Throughout our first year, the Mail Club will celebrate Black people whose lives and stories expand how we imagine ourselves in the outdoors.
We'll remember pioneers, discover stories and practice finding joy outside—in ways that feel accessible, affirming and completely our own.

Five years and still choosing joy.
For five years, I've had the joy and honor of hosting the Black Joy Retreat—creating space for Black people to rest, laugh, play, explore and simply be outdoors.
I've watched people try something new, sit around campfires, make friends, breathe a little deeper and remember that the outdoors belongs to us, too.
You don't have to perform outdoorsiness here. You simply get to be.
The Black Joy Mail Club is one more way for us to keep spreading that joy beyond the retreat. Every envelope is a reminder that Black people deserve safe, fun and affirming spaces to experience the outdoors— and that joy itself is worth practicing.
